Using Jasper is straightforward. When you log in you go right to the Dashboard. The side menu has just a few items to choose from.

Create Content

This is a button at the top of the right-side menu that gets everything to get started with. Clicking on the button lets you choose from the options Blank document, New from Template, New Blog Post, or New Art.

Blank Document

The Blank Document Option puts you directly into the editor with, you guessed it, a blank document. At the top center, you can choose from 4 different modes.

• Focus Mode: Focus mode adds a right-hand control section where you can describe the document you want to create, the Tone of Voice you want Jasper to use, and any keywords you’d like the writer to use.

• Chat Mode: In Jasper Chat mode, you simply type your specific request or question into the input box and wait for Jasper’s response in the chat box. Chat Mode allows for an iterative conversation, meaning you can ask follow-up questions or provide additional information for new responses. The response time may vary based on the complexity of your request.

• SEO Mode: In SEO mode Jasper integrates with Surfer SEO to help you optimize your content to rank higher in search engine results. By providing keywords, Jasper incorporates them into the AI content automatically. 

• Jasper can generate SEO-optimized titles, meta descriptions, blog posts, and more. This mode is designed to help you attract more organic traffic to your website or a long-form blog post, ensuring your content is not just engaging, but also discoverable by search engines.

• Power Mode: Power Mode in Jasper is designed for advanced content generation. Here the right side menu has a huge, and I mean huge, list of what might best be described as templates. The choices range from Email Campaign workflows to Personal Bios. This mode has far too many options to cover in this post, I’ll be writing more on this mode soon, so check back for those articles! Suffice it to say, it’s perfect for creating a complex piece for a variety of use cases, like a long-form blog post, script, story, or professional report.

Here you can choose from one of dozens of templates to get you started (and finished) quickly. From a blog post outline to a press release, many of the templates are the same as those available in the Power Mode of the blank documents. To get started, choose a template when know what type of content you want to create, and would rather just fill in some prompts.

New Blog Post

The New Blog Post option allows you to create fresh, engaging, and SEO-optimized blog content quickly and easily. It’s essentially a template focused solely on blog creation.

New Art

Jasper now creates images in addition to text. Much like DALL-E, Midjourney, and other generative AI software you may have heard of, you can use Jasper to create images that will match the content you provide. You can specify image type and aspect ratio and Jasper gets to work generating your image.

Art is in the eye of the beholder, but in my opinion, this feature lags behind the rest of Jasper’s features and falls far short of images created by Midjourney and the like. However, I’m glad that it’s available with Jasper, and if it improves to the same extent that I’ve seen Jasper improve, it will become a very useful addition.

Recent Content

This section displays the most recent pieces of content that you have created using Jasper. It allows you to quickly access, edit, or continue working on your latest projects.

Your Content

This is where all the content you’ve created with Jasper is stored. It’s like a comprehensive library of your work, making it easy for you to search, access, and manage all your past projects in one place.

Campaigns

The Campaigns section in Jasper is designed to help you manage and organize your content creation tasks at a broader level. Instead of dealing with individual pieces of content, you can group related content into different campaigns.

For example, if you’re planning a series of blog posts around a specific theme or a set of social media posts for a promotional event, you can create a new campaign for it. Inside each campaign, you can generate, store, and manage all the relevant content.

Each campaign can be named, described, and tagged for easy identification and retrieval. You can also set start dates, end dates, and status (active, paused, completed) for your campaigns to keep track of your progress.
